Hureaulite (fine rare crystals)

Item Description

Hureaulite is a rare phosphate mineral, which dates back to 1825. It was named after the type locality, a village in France named Hureaux. Most examples are typically micro crystals, but the finest examples of this beautiful manganese phosphate are most notably found at the Jocão Claim in Brazil, whey they occur in eye-visible vibrant orange-pink color crystals. They are certainly the standard for the species. This specimen hosts many sharp, lustrous, translucent, vibrant orange-pink colored monoclinic crystals of Hureaulite sitting associated with nearly black colored Rockbridgeite. The largest Hureaulite crystal measures 6 mm long. There are some contacted areas, but the majority of the crystals are pristine. A very attractive, three-dimensional and high quality specimen of this hard to find material, from the best location for the in terms of the size, quality and color of the crystals.
