Item Description
Specimens of a bizarre iron-manganese borate with two oxidation states of the iron present, are seldom seen. This one has small areas of embedded crystals mixed through the matrix of contact-metamorphosed limestone. They are "smears on rock" to most eyes, but they are there. Ex. University of Arizona Mineral Museum collection, donated by the great rarities and sulfide specialist collector Rukin Jelks. It comes with the museum label, with Jelks' own label, and with an older label from Wards Science, probably circa 1950s-1960s. I have only had a few such specimens in the past, and they seemed to sell for around $300-400.
