Huge Rhodochrosite Stalactite (Slice)

Item Description

A polished slice through what was a HUGE stalactite of rhodochrosite, from Argentina. You can see the concentric deposition layers and the "core" at the center. It has wonderful hues from light salmon pink all the way to a very rich deep, almost red hue. The slice is not complete all the way around - the stalactite evidently could not be removed intact. But nevertheless, this is a truly impressive mineral specimen! This was cut from a pocket of stalactites of large size found in 1988-1989
