Huge Powellite (fluorescent) on Stilbite & Apophyllite

Item Description

An important large powellite combination specimen from Jalgaon. A huge, sharp, 5.3 cm, oxide-coated, tetragonal powellite crystal is dramatically centered on the large well-prepared matrix of bladed stilbite and blocky ivory-colored fluorapophyllite crystals. The powellite is actually colorless, translucent and is moderately lustrous. The complex form of the sharply terminated crystal adds pizzazz to the piece. The powellite is nearly pristine, with only a gently bruised secondary termination on the lower left. Gentle bruising to the back of the termination is out-of-sight. Bright yellow fluorescence. A remarkable large powellite combination with a significant large powellite crystal. Valued at $2500-3000.
