Impressive, classic, dramatically sculptural large mounded pink dolomite from the well-known quarries at Black Rock, Arkansas. The lustrous, translucent, pretty pink saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs are richly peppered with small iridescent to coated chalcopyrite sphenoids, adding much character and a typical accent. Ex Al Kidwell Collection. Al was a well-known mineral collector and research geologist with Carter Oil Company and later Exxon Oil Company in Houston, Texas. The phosphate species Kidwellite was named in his honor in 1974. An exceptional large dolomite with chalcopyrite from the locale.
