Huge doubly-terminated Calcite twin

Item Description

A gigantic, gemmy, amber, doubly terminated, calcite twin from China. The luster is fabulous and the terminations are especially gemmy. This is a super showy and excellent calcite. The primary terminations are very nearly pristine, with only miniscule edgewear to one tip. A secondary termination has a cleaved tip. Even the back is in very good shape, with undamaged contacting and one spot of bruising. Seldom available in this size and quality from this locale known for super realgar specimens. This is the biggest good calcite twin I have seen from this locale. Obtained from my Chinese source in 2009. Valued at $1500.
