Item Description
Wow! A RARE, rich and impressive large dioptase plate from the famous Morenci Mine. Dioptase is rare from Morenci and other Arizona locales. Scintillating, gemmy, rich emerald-green dioptase microcrystals cover most of the undulating surface. It looks like green sugar, and is among the largest and richest such examples from a US locality I have seen. Turquoise-blue chrysocolla covers the back of the plate, as a fine bonus. A plate of this size is hard to come by, nearly unprecedented. Ex Dick Hauck Collection and valued at $2400. A MUST for the locality or species collector!
