HUGE Danburite Crystal, with Quartz (new find)

The finest danburites in the world come from Charcas, Mexico and this is a HUGE example from a new find of last fall 2009. The colorless, glassy, highly lustrous, translucent, tapered crystal has a sharp termination and is strikingly, partially sheathed in sparkly, snow-white, quartz crystals. The association adds a nice accent. The size of the crystal is huge, ranking it up there with the antique Russian danburites (which are opaque and chalky anyhow) and WAY BEYOND most Charcas material. I could not believe the size of this one when I saw it. It is Complete all-around and very nearly pristine (only barely noticeable bruising to the quartz field, and a broken danburite sidecar crystal of no significance). Valued $1500-2500, for the unprecedented size and quality
