Item Description
Wow! A huge and impressive large floater crystallized copper specimen from the famous Centennial Mine of Copper Country. This museum-sized, two-sided, flattened monster has fine aroborescent form and a beautiful, variable, rich cuprite patina. The overall form is spinel-twinned and most of the crystals are spinels. The elongated spinel-twin "branches" at the top really add pizzazz. A few tetrahexahedrons are noted on the branch "tips". The large euhedral spinel-twin in the center is 6.0 cm long! Ex Union College of Schenectady, New York Collection. A striking and fantastic large old-time copper, certainly dating to prior to World War II. 8.6 pounds or 3.9 kilos mass. That's a 30 cm ruler behind the piece! Very fairly valued at $4500-6500.
