Huge Andradite-Grossular Garnet (RARE color)

Impressive, huge, RARE color grossular garnet from a less well-known area of the Kayes Region of Mali. The stunning, sharp, mottled yellow-green textbook dodecahedron beveled with trapezohedral faces is very glassy, highly lustrous and is gemmy to translucent. Two faces have striking skeletal features and the cute side car crystals are super accessories. Analysis confirms that the yellow-green garnets from the 1990s to 2000s finds in Mali are predominately Grossular in the Andradite-Grossular Series. See the 2011 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 42, No. 3. An exceptional and pristine 360-degree garnet specimen. Yellow-green garnets of this hue, size and quality are VERY RARE from here.
