Huge Andradite Garnet var. Demantoid crystal

Item Description

A HUGE demantoid garnet crystal from recent finds at this obscure locale. The large, sharp, lustrous dodecahedron beveled by the trapezohedron is dark forest-green with translucent zones of shocking apple-green. Yes, the crystal has a few contacts and dings, but this remains a significant large crystal of the species and locale. It is among the larger ones I know of. Valued $2000. Note that these are from the Western Azerbaijan Province...near the Iranian border. Most people label them as Iranian in origin, but this is not politic.
