Item Description
Ajoite is a very rare copper-related silicate. This impressive, LARGE CABINET, specimen hosts an large, elongate, curved vug filled with turquoise-blue ajoite inclusions in glassy, water-clear quartz crystals. This vug partially surrounds a cluster of huge, euhedral, terminated, milky quartz crystals with dramatic stepped-growth faces. The vug itself is in excellent shape, with only a few broken quartz crystals. A bit of bruising is noted on the large milky quartz crystals, but certainly nothing to detraction. This is mammoth and striking example of this rare species from a New Find at the famous Messina Mine of South Africa. 8.8 pounds or 4 kilos.
