Hubnerite with Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

This is a very attractive association specimen from one of the most famous classic Peruvian localities. A group of sharp, lustrous, prismatic, parallel growth crystals of Hubnerite measuring up to 3.5 cm sitting on GEM / gemmy Quartz crystals. There are some spots on this specimen where the characteristic blood red color can be seen with good backlighting. These crystals have not been seen with much frequency in years, and they are mong the finest Hubnerites ever found. No serious damage that I can see with the naked eye. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
