Hubnerite with Quartz ex Campbell

This is a very attractive association specimen from one of the most famous classic Peruvian localities. Several sharp, very long and lustrous, prismatic, parallel growth crystals of Hubnerite form a tight, bright group with numerous gemmy Quartz crystals on the front and sides. The slender, elongated and prismatic Hubnerite crystals are translucent and reveal their characteristic dark, blood red color, especially on one of the piece where no Quartz crystals obscure them. The Quartz crystals do enhance the presentation of the piece with numerous clusters and sprays of crystals ranging between a few millimeters up to 2.6 cm. There are also numerous, 3 mm to 1 cm, slender Hubnerite crystals intergrown with the Quartz as a later generation of Hubnerite that adds interest and aesthetics to this already attractive piece! These crystals haven't been seen with much frequency in recent years since mining has tapered off at the mine. This is probably from the 1980s era finds here, a classic. Pasto Bueno has produced some of the finest Hubnerites ever found. This piece sits well on its own for display and can be shown 360 degrees!
