Item Description
Hübnerite is a manganese tungstate species, and truly the mineral is at its best from the famous Huayllapon Mine in Peru. The finest examples of this material are incredibly lustrous, well-formed and often show fiery internal red color when backlit. This is a classic association specimen featuring a group of fine quality, sharp, lustrous, prismatic crystals of Hübnerite, measuring up to 1.7 cm, associated with lustrous, translucent, colorless, prismatic Quartz crystals. The Hübnerite crystals seem to be essentially opaque, and I can't only see a TINY bit of red flash coming through with strong backlighting. Classic material, and certainly fine quality for the species.
