Item Description
This is a great display specimen of Hubnerite with Monazite-(Ce) from one of the most famous classic Bolivian localities. There are a few sharp, lustrous, stubby, black crystals (a very slight red color will appear on the surface of the crystals with strong lighting) of Hubnerite with sharp, lustrous, translucent, orange-pink, twinned crystals of Monazite-Ce on white Quartz crystals on matrix. The Monazites actually shows a color change in different lighting ranging from orange-pink to a yellowish color depending upon the light source. These specimens are not common from Siglo XX, and this piece is one of the better quality display specimens of this rare association that I have handled. The crystals on this specimen confirmed Hubnerite, not Ferberite. The largest Hubnerite measures 1.3 cm, and the largest Monazite measures 0.2 cm.
