Item Description

Lustrous, dark reddish-brown hubnerite blades totally cover both sides of the contrasting white matrix crust on this very rich and showy miniature from this obscure exctinct Colorado tungsten mine. Obtained by Bob Trimingham in 1966, he believes these to be wolframite pseudomorphs after hubnerite. If so, this is a very rare occurrence from this locale. MINDAT does not list wolframite for the Ruby Mine. Confirmation testing needs to be performed.
