Hubnerite & Fluorite (fluorescent) on Quartz

Item Description

A striking combination small cab from a recent find at this classic Peruvian locality. A highly lustrous, 3.5 x 1.8 cm, hubnerite crystal with contacted, undamaged termination is jauntily set atop a tapering porcupine cluster of glassy quartz points of varying sizes. The surprise at the base is the hard-to-see cluster of very gemmy and lustrous, light pastel-green, fluorite octahedrons to 2.2 cm. The scattered broken quartz points are certainly a modest detraction to this uncommon to the locale and most excellent combination piece. The purple fluorescence is the real tip-off for the fluorite.
