Hübnerite (fine rich specimen) (ex Gary Weaver Collection)

A classic Hübnerite specimen from the well known Adams Mine in Colorado. This locality is essentially known for these specimens specifically, and they are still among the best and most popular for the species from all of Colorado, or just about anywhere else in the United States. Dozens of beautiful, sharp, lustrous, deep reddish-brown colored, foliated striated crystals of Hübnerite sit atop a granular Quartz matrix. The largest Hübnerite crystal measures 3.0 cm long, which is pretty impressive for this material Specimens such as this are not readily available these days, and for the quality, size and overall displayability, it is certainly a very good small cabinet specimen of this well known material. Valued at $1,600 retail. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. After retiring to Prescott, Arizona in the early 2000s, Gary rekindled his childhood love of minerals, amassing a collection of roughly 2000 specimens focusing on localities in which he and his wife had lived or visited (Mexico, Peru and the western / southwestern United States).
