Hubeite on Inesite (excellent specimen) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

An absolutely superb miniature of the extremely rare calcium manganese iron silicate from the type locality (and only locality) for the species. This piece features a fine quality, large, crystal group of rich golden-brown Hubeite crystals measuring 1.7 cm across associated with thin gemmy prisms of pale pink Inesite plus smaller groups of Hubeite scattered on all sides of the specimen. This is one of the most aesthetic Hubeite specimens I've ever seen, and the size of the main group is notably large for the species. The entire specimen is crystallized on all sides with no matrix to be seen, making it essentially a "floater". A fantastic example of this incredibly rare material that has not been seen on the market in any frequency for years. This piece around 20 years old (found circa 2000) and would make a great addition to any rare species suite or a fine miniature collection.
