Hsianghualite

How often does one have the opportunity to purchase a piece of Hsianghualite? This mineral was discovered in 1958 at the Xianghualing (Hsianghualing) Mine, but specimens really have only been available on the market in the last few years. This ultra-rare calcium lithium beryllium silicate is only found in two places in the world, and good specimens are certainly rare. It gets its name is from a Chinese word for fragrant flower, and is actually a member of the Zeolite group! This piece features fairly well-formed, creamy white modified isometric crsytals of Hsianghualite measuring up to 8 mm, which is very good sized for the species. The largest crystals are broken, but the smaller crystals on the side of the piece are in very good condition with well-formed, lustrous faces! If you collect rarities, Zeolite species, or hard to find Chinese minerals, you can't afford to pass this one up. They're simply not available on the market.
