Item Description
A superb and aesthetic, floater, CABINET specimen of lustrous, transparent to opaque, brown gypsum blades from the famous Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, near Jet, Oklahoma. The striking doubly terminated large crystal and the "tail" crystal have "hour-glass" sand inclusions, for which the locality is renowned for. The elegant gypsum rosette is an outstanding accent. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, super trivial edgewear to couple of rosette blades and to a sidecar crystal on the back are barely noticeable and are certainly not a detraction. This is one of the finest and most aesthetic selenite clusters from Jet, that I have seen in a long time. It is almost impossible to find a totally pristine large specimen, like this.
