Item Description

Hornblende specimens are extremely rare from the Teplice District in the northwest area of the Czech Republic. This set of three floater or near-floater Hornblende crystals are lustrous, prismatic, and the largest crystal, at 2.7 cm, is even doubly-terminated. The classic surface undulations and reddish inclusions add much character to the shiny black crystals. The provenance is excellent, having been in the collections of Dr. S. Ashmead, William Maclure, the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences, and Chris Stefano.
