Item Description

Hopeite and parahopeite are rare hydrated Zn-phosphates and are dimorphs. Sharp, oxide-coated, orthorhombic hopeite crystals to 5 mm are festooned on both sides of this impressive, very rich and excellent two-sided rib from the well-known Broken Hill Mine. Scattered, tiny triclinic parahopeite blades (Type Locality) are noted on both sides. An exceptionally rich and uncommon combination of the species from this famous locale. Ex Alfred Stevenson and Eugene Carmichael Collections and comes with four labels.
