Hopeite ps. Hemimorphite (rare pseudomorph)

Item Description

This spectacular pseudomorph of hopeite, a rare hydrated zinc phosphate, after hemimorphite is visually striking and exceedingly rare. The specimen features diverging blades that clearly exhibit the parallel growth typical of hemimorphite. A single, flower-shaped hopeite crystal is aesthetically perched on the replaced hemimorphite, surrounded by smaller crystals. This is an exceptionally well-crystallized piece, likely dating back to the 1950s-60s. It stands out as a superb and rare example of this unique mineralogical transformation.
