Item Description

Holmquistite is a rare Amphibole species, first discovered in Sweden, and named after Per Holmquist, a Swedish petrologist in 1913. This is a showy and fine quality presentable specimen from Brandrücken in Carinthia, Austria featuring a layer of somewhat fibrous, pastel indigo colored, chatoyant Holmquistite on mica schist matrix. A very rare to find specimen of this elusive material, and certainly the best one we've had to offer in the auctions.
From the collection of Colin Manlove.
