Item Description

A surreal jackstraw cluster of goethite after gypsum crystals from Santa Eulalia, not Naica, from the Bob Trimingham Collection. The fantastic pipe-like pseudos (epimorphs) are gray to rust-red and the scattered iridescence adds pizzazz. Every psuedo is a hollow, oval or tabular tube. This striking two-sided piece displays well without aid and looks like something from a science fiction or fantasy movie! Purchased by Bob in 1967, the Golden Years of Mexican minerals.
