Item Description

Hodgkinsonite is an ultra-rare hydroxyl Mn-Zn silicate, unique to the famous mines of the Franklin District. Glassy, translucent, pretty pink crystal sections (large but probably cleaveage planes), to 6 mm, are richly embedded in the willemite and franklinite matrix. Neon lime-green willemite fluorescence. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. Classic and excellent older Franklin combination material.
