Item Description

From the only place in the world where it's found, here we have an extraordinarily rare specimen of the calcium silicon sulfate, Hielscherite. Tiny white crystals can be seen on basalt matrix. The piece is a micro to be sure, and we photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. The piece comes from the collection of Paolo Matioli, by way of Dakota Matrix, whose label states that the piece is the author's material from the writeup in the CNMNC writeup for New IMA mineral (2011-037). This mineral has only been known for a few years, and was found only once at the locality at Graulay from what I gather. SUPER RARE material, nearly impossible to replace, do not miss out.
