Item Description
Impressive, very rich, old-time heulandite with stilbite from this famous extinct New Jersey traprock basalt quarry. Rare, pretty pastel-pink, pearlescent fan-shaped, curved, heulandite crystals, to 2.0 cm, are nicely accented with contrasting clusters and isolated crystals of lustrous, translucent, straw-yellow stilbite crystals. The was quarry opened in 1901 by James Sowerbutt and was renamed after his death in 1916 (MINDAT). Undoubtedly rare, choice old-time material by the label. An outstanding, rare and rich old-time classic combination from the Dick Hauck Collection with several fine display views.
