Item Description

Heulandite is found in many different colors throughout the Deccan Trap in India. You could make the argument that these particular Heulandites are arguably the most distinctive in terms of color. The beautiful blue-green hue is actually caused by micro inclusions of the mica species Celadonite, and although there are a few other world localities where Heulandite is found with Celadonite inclusions, the Indian material is by far the finest quality and the most attractive specimens. This sculptural small cabinet is a fantastic, three-dimensional "floater" specimen with no point of attachment or damage that I can see with the naked eye. The unique "twisted" shape of the Heulandite crystal groups combined with the flowing / branching form of the overall specimen make it a really eye-catching and desirable example of this attractive material.
