There are many different colors of Heulandite found throughout the Deccan Trap of India, with the green ones being attractive and distinctive in their own right. The engaging, blue-green hue is caused by micro inclusions of Celadonite, a species of Mica. This sculptural, large miniature looks fantastic from either side. The unique, twisted, and flowing habit looks like an Olympic flame from one side, and from the other there is no getting around the fact that is looks like a cobra, which is most appropriate for India! Although there are a few other localities world-wide where Heulandite is found with Celadonite inclusions, the Indian material is by far the finest quality and the makes most attractive specimens - such as this.
