Heulandite Subgroup on Prehnite

A classic association specimen from what might be the most famous trap rock quarry in the history of New Jersey mineral collecting. The famed Prospect Park Quarry started operation in 1901 (Sowerbutt), and continued into the early 2010s before it was closed and filled in to make room for a housing development. This locality is well-known for its zeolites and Prehnite specimens, and this piece is a beautiful cabinet sized display piece featuring soft beige colored, pearly groups of Heulandite measuring up to 2.2 cm, sitting on spherical green Prehnite on basalt matrix. Minor associated Calcite can be seen on the piece as well. There is little bit of roughness in a few spots, so the piece is not 100% pristine, but it's still showy and good sized, and you will never see any more specimens from this locality again, so don't miss out while they're still available.
