Item Description

Super glassy, pearlescent, gemmy to translucent, colorless, layered, tapered heulandite crystals, to 9 mm, are festooned on a layer of glassy, translucent mint-green fluorite octahedrons on the blocky matrix. This well-known steep ravine is noted for excellent fluorite and Zeolite Group specimens. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6194 and acquired from the Lidstrom's at the Pleasanton Federation Show in the 1970. Comes with a faded old Ward's label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Classic, superb, rich and RARE old-time combination material from the locale. Purple fluorite fluorescence.
