Drio le Pale is a classic old-time Italian locality, famous for red heulandite and analcime (mindat). A striking 5.3 cm rich burnt-orange tapered lamellar heulandite crystal section dominates this impressive and aesthetic small cabinet specimen. The dense nest of smaller lustrous red heulandites and the fantastic vesicular gas bubble holes in both the heulandite and basalt add dramatic character to this very fine old-timer. Ex Earl Calvert Collection, a well-known California collector who died in 1964.
