Item Description

A beautiful display quality specimen from Aurangabad featuring translucent, lustrous, golden-peach to white bi-colored aggregate of Heulandite very aesthetically sitting on a layer of off-white colored Mordenite on matrix The piece is in great shape overall and the displayability leaves nothing to be desired from an aesthetics standpoint. The largest Heulandite group measures 4.1 cm across. Indian Zeolites may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant ! From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures".
