Heulandite & Apophyllite on Chalcedony (Kennedy Coll.)

Item Description

A very aesthetic and sculptural large combination plate from Jalgaon and the D.R. Kennedy Collection. A classic and striking lustrous and translucent, burgundy-red tapered fan of heulandite blades is dramatically set on the chalcedony-coated basalt plate peppered with gem, tetragonal, colorless apophyllite crystals. The pristine heulandite is 4.8 x 3.7 x 2.7 cm and is beautifully accented with small stilbite blades. Choice and excellent large combination material from Jalgaon. This richly colored heulandite varietal is not that common.
