Heterogenite with Chrysocolla with Malachite

This piece is a beautiful, good quality association specimen from this famous mine. One side of the piece features a full coverage lustrous, botryoidal, jet black Heterogenite with a sprinkling of light green Malachite, while the other side has a coverage of botryoidal groups of Chrysocolla which look like molten plastic (and odd luster for the locality), with an intense, deep robin’s-egg blue and minor Malachite overgrowths. This was a find from many years back from the tremendous copper-producing L’Etoile du Congo Mine in Democratic Republic of Congo. A wonderful combination of colors and species that would make a nice addition to any secondary ore mineral collection.
