Item Description
Heterogenite is a very rare cobalt oxy-hydroxide and this locality has produced some of the best specimens of the species ever found. This small cabinet piece is dominated by bubbly, botryoidal growths vitreous, black-blue Heterogenite forming smooth to bumpy spheres to just over 1 cm in mounded, aerial three dimensional aggregates that are especially fine on the front of the piece that are beautifully accented bright, rich green Chrysocolla on the bottom half of the piece. This is a very significant collectible example of the species, and happens to also be beautiful! Old material, from the collection of Stretch Young.
