Striking blackberry-like clusters of lustrous, black bubbly heterogenite botryoids cover the mounded matrix and are dramatically accented by spherical clusters of starkly contrasting tiny acicular primary malachite crystals from the famous Star of the Congo Mine in Katanga. Heterogenite is an uncommon cobalt oxy-hydroxide, with some of the finest and richest examples coming from this well-known locale. Very fine combination material from a recent find. Valued at $300 by the former dealer for high quality.
