Striking, bubbly, blackberry-like clusters of highly lustrous, black heterogenite botryoids, a rare Co-oxide, cover the front of the sculptural rectangular layered cabinet specimen. Turquoise-blue and green chrysocolla crusts on the back are a fine contrast and typical accessory. The front is pristine. This famous and abandoned copper mine, intermittently worked by locals for specimens, has easily produced the finest examples of the species. Older material from the R.D. Mushlitz Collection, as his label has Katanga, Zaire, the offical name of this area of the DR Congo from 1971 to 1997. A very rich, showy and high quality example of the uncommon species and famous locale.
