Heterogenite is an uncommon cobalt oxy-hydroxide, with some of the finest and richest examples coming from the famous Star of Congo Mine in Katanga. This impressive and rich large plate is covered with striking blackberry-like clusters of lustrous, black botryoids. The thin crust hosts a thin layer of pretty teal-blue chrysocolla, which adds much color and pizzazz. The back of the crust is covered with an unusual and unknown sparkly platy mineral.
