Item Description
I can honestly say that I haven't had a piece of Heterogenite from Tsumeb to offer in the auctions prior to this piece. It's obviously not very common from this prolific locality, and any Tsumeb completionist should JUMP on the change to add a piece like this to their Tsumeb suite. As Heterogenites go, this is a fairly typical piece of the material showing botryoidal form with a greyish black color. The piece is associated with green Smithsonite and minor Calcite to help solidify that it's from Tsuemb. A very hard to find piece of this uncommon cobalt oxide from this beloved locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7801). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A hard to find old-timer from this world-famous mine!
