Item Description

A rare and very unusual combination specimen from Tsumeb featuring lustrous coating of black-brown Hetrogenite on Calcite associated with green Malachite and several, lustrous Dioptase crystals. Heterogenite is a rare cobalt hydroxide and on this elongate piece, it covers much of the step-faced and blocky calcite crystals on either end of the piece. The Heterogenite is a shiny oily black in both luster and color. There is a small group of scintillating, colorless, transparent Calcite crystals at the top-center of the piece for excellent contrast - along with radial sprays of fibrous Malachite to 5 mm along with several glistening Dioptase crystals from 2 to 3 mm in size that are a very nice feature to this excellent Tsumeb rarity. A unique, comlex specimen that is both beautiful and "Tsumeby" at the same time in a way that nothing else is. Literally impossible to value such unique combos!
