Item Description

A very rich, showy and uncommon combination from the famous Sterling Mine. The hefty zinc ore specimen is festooned with rose-red willemite crystals and black, octahedral hetaerolite crystals, a rare zinc, manganese oxide in the sparing calcite matrix. Neon-green willemite fluorescence. From the Ted Bartels Collection and comes with a Gerstmann's label, well-known Franklin collectors and dealers, dating from the early 1960s to 1980. A significant specimen and find, as even the pillar and mine level are known.
