Item Description

Little-known Hetaerolite is indeed a real species we have seen only a few times: a secondary zinc manganese oxide, found primarily in hydrothermal ore deposits. This is an extremely rich specimen, with the Hetaerolite aligned in botryoidal, stalactitic form. The high luster, where the botryoids are well-formed, is exceptional - the best I have seen. Interestingly, the type locality for Hetaerolite is Franklin, the only locality that could rival Bisbee (where this is from) as "the" great American mineral locality. Formerly in the collection of Joseph Urban.
