Item Description
A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange, hessonite grossular garnet from the famous Asbest region of the Urals. The glassy, lightly striated, crystal has textbook, modified dodecahedral form and rests on a matrix of smaller hessonites. The striking large crystal is complete all-around and pristine, while the contacted matrix is out of sight on the back. Rare in this size and quality and was for many years part of the Pala Properties/Bill Larson Garnet Collection and was on display at the Fallbrook shop.
