Herkimer Quartz "diamonds" on matrix (rare) (Nowakowski Coll.)

Item Description

Matrix Herkimer quartz "diamond" specimens are rare because the crystals commonly break off matrix during collecting, as the matrix is usually very hard. This is a striking two-sided piece of five, transparent to translucent "diamonds", to 4.0 cm, very aesthetically lined up on the matrix plate. The two smaller crystals and the dolomite rhombs peppered on the matrix are nifty accents. Four of the five crystals are pristine. One has gently bruised termination edges.
