Item Description

Very fine cluster of gemmy, well-formed Herderites, growing on Schorl. The Herderites, rare for the Erongos, have excellent luster and attractive striations on many of the crystal faces. The crystals average about .3 cm in size, though the largest is about .5 cm. A very fine specimen of this rare locality piece. In the context of moving 6000 specimens from his storage and apartment, Charlie specifically pointed out his few groups of herderites to us!
