Item Description
A first-rate specimen of this exceptionally rare and strange Garnet species, Henritermierite, from the best locality for crystals of this variety. Henritermierite is unusual because it is a manganese rich garnet, and of unusual crystal habit (as you can see, clearly pseudo-octahedral crystals in abundance!). The Henritermierite grew in large crystals (up to 7mm), all with good luster and a deep red-black color to them. Very sharp, overall. A rich plate like this is exceedingly hard to obtain. Worth every penny of $1,000-$2000 according to Charlie and based on sales of some of his other pieces before we found a small secondary stash amidst his other treasures.
